Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
Wednesday Jul 07, 2021
Holidays are coming!...well the 6 week school holiday is anyway!
If you're a parent or carer, does the thought of the long summer break make you jump for joy or are you rushing out to restock the gin?!
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that one of the most stressful things about parenting is constantly playing referee between your squabbling children. In this episode I'm joined by childcare expert and TV nanny, Laura Amies.
Laura shares her tips on how to create a more harmonious family environment and ways to keep yourself sane and your children happy and occupied during the holidays.

S2, Ep 73: Lets Talk Contraception
Thursday Jul 01, 2021
Thursday Jul 01, 2021
Pills, condoms, coils, implants, and the mysterious rhythm method....
There is a plethora of contraception out there, all with different success rates and with their own side effects. It's can be confusing when figuring out what we need at different points in our lives.
Birth control is largely a female responsibility but funnily enough we don't talk about it enough with each other.
My guest Dr Nirja Joshi and I change that in this episode!

The Power Panel is back!
At the end of every month, Rummy, Kirat and I power through the hot topics of the moment. In this episode we discuss swearing as research from the BBFC says that people are increasingly likely to use strong language in their everyday life.
We talk trolling and how we feel about Chrissy Tiegen's public apology for bullying people on Twitter.
And Keeping Up With The Kardashians recently came to an end. Which of us love it? which of us hate it? and what made the show so iconic?

We talk about the emotional and practical influences that dads have on their daughters and we hear from Raghu and Sat about how fatherhood has changed them and whether there are any differences in the way they raise sons and daughters.

S2, Ep 70: The Mummy Makeover
Wednesday Jun 09, 2021
Wednesday Jun 09, 2021
Saggy boobs, stretched out tummies, and an ass that seems determined to slide down your thighs - just a range of delightful ways that a woman’s body can change after having kids!
The miracle of childbirth is such a beautiful thing and some women embrace stretch marks and mum tums as a badge of honour, but for others it can knock body confidence and they no longer feel happy about the way they look.
In this episode I speak to Toronto based mum of three, Mandi (Keeping Up With the Kandolas) who recently had a "mummy makeover" - a term used to describe a combination of liposuction, a tummy tuck and breast augmentation or uplift. Mandi talks me through why she decided to go under the knife, how she told her family, and how the results have changed her life.

It's the last in my series of collabs for the month of May. And we're going out with a bang!
I'm joined by mum of four, cancer survivor, author, speaker and award winning podcaster (The Intended Parent) Kreena Dhiman.
After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 33 and then suffering acute heart failure as a result of chemotherapy, Kreena became infertile.
In this eye opening episode she tells me about her unconventional journey to motherhood.
We talk how and why she chose surrogacy to create her family and how she's coping with life as a mum to a toddler and 9 month old triplets.

S2, Ep 67: The Birds And The Bees: A Desi Tale
Thursday May 20, 2021
Thursday May 20, 2021
And another one!....
It's the third of my special collab episodes with strong South Asian sisters who are breaking stigmas and stereotypes and changing the world one podcast at a time.
In this episode I'm joined by sisters Nikita and Natasha, AKA Two Chickpeas In A Podcast. We lift the lid on those 'birds and the bees' talks that kind-of/never happened and how that and the marriages we saw growing up had an impact on the way we viewed love, relationships and sex.
Why is it so important to talk to girls about boys, and vice versa?
And what lessons would we pass on to the younger generation?

Wednesday May 12, 2021
Wednesday May 12, 2021
It's the second of my collabs with South Asian sisters who are breaking down stigmas and stereotypes through the world of podcasting!
In this episode I'm joined by Amrit Matharu and Kiran Chaggar from Asian Woman Festival. We discuss whether it's possible to stay true to our culture while smashing the patriarchy.
Can we be feminists and traditional South Asian women? Do we carry on participating in rituals like kanyadhaan and the doli ceremony at weddings? And are we ready for the backlash from our families if we say no?
Find out which cultural festival Kiran is no longer taking part in, whether Amrit will be taking her future husband's last name, and why pink ladoo/barfi is so important to me!

S2, Ep 65: Generational Trauma - Breaking The Cycle
Wednesday May 05, 2021
Wednesday May 05, 2021
For the month of May I will be joining forces with South Asian sisters who are breaking boundaries in their own way through the wonderful world of podcasting.
In the first of these collabs I'm joined by Sharan Raju from the podcast Too British To Be Asian.
In this episode we discuss generational trauma and how to break the cycle.
From me stopping myself from picking up a chappal (slipper!) to discipline my kids, to Sharan distancing herself from her family so she can live life on her own terms, we cover it all!
