S2, Ep 94: Daddy Issues, Tarot, and Women Who WFH
Thursday Nov 25, 2021
Thursday Nov 25, 2021
The original Power Panel are back together!
It's the last episode of the month so Rummy, Kirat and I discuss topical stories that have caught our eye, and we try and set the world to rights.
Will Smith and Adele recently revealed complicated relationships with the fathers which have shaped their lives. How much does your father figure, or lack of one, influence your life? Does it set the standard for romantic relationships?
The mystical has now become mainstream...with the popularity of tarot soaring we discuss whether it's something we'd look into and why having your palm read is sometimes not a good idea!
Working from home has always been more popular for women, but are we missing out on promotions and networking? And why is WFH such a different experience for men and women?

S2, Ep 93: Better With Age
Thursday Nov 18, 2021
Thursday Nov 18, 2021
We live in a society where we are taught that youth is to be flaunted and age is to be hidden, where phrases like "past it" and "mutton dressed as lamb" are thrown around, where ageism is more rife than you think.
If you're a woman over the age of 40 (hell, even over the age of 30!) how does all of this make you feel?
In this episode my guests Career Coach Manjeet Nijjer and Award Winning Chef Lorna Nanda Gangotra, and I discuss what getting older means to us. From changing up our skincare, going grey gracefully (or not as the case may be!), deciding to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, to finding the right tribe. We reveal the best bits about ageing (there are lots btw!) and advice we'd give to our younger selves.

S2, Ep 92: The Bad Beti
Wednesday Nov 10, 2021
Wednesday Nov 10, 2021
Daughter, wife, daughter-in-law, mother.....all roles we have set out for us to take up in a set order, especially if we are South Asian! But what about if we want to rock the boat a little? to do things our own way and in our own time? Does this mean a lifetime of feeling like we've disappointed our family and lost our culture?
In this episode I'm joined by the original Bad Beti (daughter), award winning podcaster Sangeeta Pillai.
We discuss smashing stereotypes, why we feel it's our duty to talk about taboo topics, and growing old disgracefully.

S2, Ep 91: Give Birth Like.A Goddess
Thursday Nov 04, 2021
Thursday Nov 04, 2021
Amazing, terrifying, exhausting, empowering - just some of the words that I would use to describe the process of giving birth.
In this episode my guest mum-of-four and Doula-in-training, Navrup Kaur (@sikhmum) shares her thoughts on making childbirth more empowering and less terrifying.
With the modern world encouraging us to suppress many of our natural instincts, Navrup gives advice on how women can connect with their bodies to give birth in the most calm and natural way possible. And that doesn't mean that if you have to have a C section you can't come away feeling empowered like the Goddess that you are.
Plus I share my birth stories - spoiler alert: there's a stark contrast between the first and the last!

S2, Ep 90: Married At First Sight, Menopause, and Fertility
Thursday Oct 28, 2021
Thursday Oct 28, 2021
It's another Power Hour episode with the panel!
In this episode I'm joined by Kirat and Huji and we power through some of the controversial stories from the past couple of weeks.
Did you watch Married At First Sight UK? and would you ever trust experts (or bacholay!) to set you up with someone you had never met?
Would you tell people at work you if you were going through menopause?
And should young women at uni be given fertility lessons?
Hear our take on this and let us know your thoughts too.

S2, Ep 89: Meet The Indian Sex Coach
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
Let’s talk about sex baby!.....in very hushed tones please because we're Indian.
Why is it that in the country where the Kamasutra originated, you can't mention the S word out loud?
Pallavi Barnwal is a TEDx speaker, intimacy coach and sex educator. Her work is geared towards creating a non-judgemental space where people can talk openly about sex.
In this episode Pallavi and I discuss whether sexual chemistry can be created/re-kindled, how women need to take ownership of their own sex lives, when to talk to kids about sex, and whether attitudes to sex are changing in India.

S2, Ep 88: What Will People Say?
Wednesday Oct 13, 2021
Wednesday Oct 13, 2021
Are you familiar with that very loaded Indian expression "Log Kya Kehenge?"
The English translation is "what will people say? " And when the expression is used "people" doesn't usually mean the people that actually love and support us. It's usually the community, elders in the family, even un-related Aunties!
In this episode my guest Mitali from the podcast Brown Game Strong, and I attempt to uncover why "log kya kehenge" is such a driving force in our lives. Is there a balance between being a brown girl that rocks the boat and lives life on her own terms, and not letting your parents down? Can we be proud of our culture whilst smashing stereotypes?
Have a listen and let us know your thoughts too.

S2, Ep 87: When Will We Be Good Enough?
Wednesday Oct 06, 2021
Wednesday Oct 06, 2021
How many of us have gone on a diet, or a frenzied few weeks in the gym, or some kind of self improvement mission only to reach our goal then find something else about ourselves that we're not quite happy with? Where does it end?
There is a very fine line between working on yourself to be the best version of you, and accepting your flaws.
In this episode I'm joined by Food Behaviour Coach and Mum of two, Ravneet from Neet Nutrition. We talk about body image, self esteem, health, happiness and our long journeys to loving and accepting ourselves.

S2, Ep 85: Boundaries and Boss Lady Talk
Wednesday Sep 22, 2021
Wednesday Sep 22, 2021
Why are women still trying to do it all?
Many of us have grown up watching the women in our families taking on everything - the house, the kids, the career, the extended family! - and we've also seen the toll it takes on mental and physical health.
In this episode Psychologist Mamta Saha joins me to discuss the importance of setting boundaries, how to manage mum-guilt, and how to convey your expectations in a way that gets you what you need.
